info

The four Ahouandjinou brothers, a famous family of musicians from Porto-Novo in Benin, have developed a unique idea: to revisit, with their African influences, French songs from the 1930s to the present day. During their regular musical travels in Europe the four brothers were plunged into the world of French chanson, in which they rediscovered some of the songs that had shaped their childhood. Indeed, Ca?man, their father, used to bring back LPs from France and was always sharing these songs from abroad. Slowly, the idea came to them: they were going to sing the texts of these great French singers, while revisiting the music in the Eyo'Nl? style. "Une valse ? Cotonou" is The African party around an explosion of French songs! From Brassens to Gainsbourg, through Minvielle, Nougaro and Barbara, without forgetting Pink, T?te Raid, Fernandel, but also, naturally, La Rue Ketanou and of course the Ogres de Barback.
