All in the noblest tradition of Italian songwriting. Fiuman? Domenico Violi's new album is pastel-coloured and highly charged in the direction of an expressiveness that does not worry about being popular but does not seek, however, snobbish paths at all costs: a commitment evident above all in the sound package that, while choosing the noble tones of jazz, manages to be balanced in relation to the lyrics that often fly decidedly high. An artist with a strong classical background and a singer endowed with a deep, sensual voice, he's very adept at constructing a little theatre for each of his songs: sometimes all it takes is a sound, other times it is the slightly eccentric vocal colouring.
