Youssef, Dhafer - Digital Prophecy

Dhafer Youssef's third CD-project follows the direction set out by his Electric Sufi-album: Atmospheric
paintings, drawn by oud and vocals, accompanied by by guitar (Eivind Aarseth), piano (Bugge
Wesseltoft), bass (Dieter Ilg) and even more computerised sounds and drum programming. It all
works out extremely well, these slow, instrumetal intros, growing into fullfilled concepts. True
highlight are the pumping, funky "Seventh Heaven Suite" (with guest Nils-Petter Molkvaer on
trumpet) and the light-footed, acoustic "Wood Talk". A tasteful and modern work-in progress.
