"Bella Ciao" was in 1964 the first of the big shows ? frescos making accessible the heritage of Italian folk songs, field-recorded during the previous decade. Work songs, struggle, political demands, but also simple serenades integrated into a program that was not intended only to specialists. This show gave impetus to the movement of the folk revival in Italy. Here it is revisited by today?s major names of traditional music: Riccardo Tesi; Elena Ledda; Lucilla Galeazzi; Ginevra di Marco; Gigi Biolcati; Andrea Salvadori; Alessio Lega.
