According to Ana La?ns, 'Portucalis', the title of her new album, reflects the essence of her music. Lains does not only sing in several Portuguese dialects, including the ancient Galician, but also blends in various Portuguese repertoire: from fado's to toada's (simple folk songs) and from Celtic music to 'saias alentejanas' from the Portuguese interior. On this new album she plays with that duality between the poetry of the fado and the lively Portuguese folklore. On this album Lains her beautiful voice comes to full maturity.
